Meet the team……
Pastor Jonathan Coates
Hi I am the leader at Avery Hill Christian Fellowship.
I have been married for over 30 years to Lesley and have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
I have lived locally all my life, and while working in retail management for many years I have been very active in local church community.
My passion is for the church to be an active part of the community as well as a place where people can discover Jesus for themselves.
I pray that you will give Jesus a chance to make a difference to your life.
Andrew Unger (Children’s Worker)
Hi my name is Andrew, I am the Children’s Worker at Avery Hill Christian Fellowship. I have worked for the church since 2018 and I am really enjoying seeing how the Church comes together with the local community. This is my second role working with Children and Young People and what I love is when we can have real relationships with families that blesses them and helps them to bless others. I am married to Susan and have a young man Joel and a young lady Rachel, we have been married for over 10 years and thank God everyday for that. We want to see children and young people safe and loved and the adults around them in a supportive community with people in the Church. In my time at Avery Hill I have seen children and young people in the Church come closer to God; they teach me new things all the time.
My name is David Cooper, I am a husband and father of four adult children and owner of a dog. My wife and I have been Christians from an early age, and felt led to accept when asked to join the leadership team.
My name is Paul Piper, I am retired having worked for 35 years in finance. Married to Jill with three grown up children. I am the church treasurer and is also a trustee of iNet a cross cultural mission agency.
My name is Patsy Jordan and I am married with a daughter and live in Eltham. I have had the honour to love and serve the Lord for forty years now, and have a passion for the pastoral work of the church.
My name is Rosemary Hutton and I am a retired social worker. I am the Safeguarding Co-ordinator at Avery Hill. I am also responsible for the Foodbank that is based at Avery Hill. This is part of Bexley Foodbank.
I have been a widow for eight years and have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
The Trustees of Avery Hill Charitable Trust are responsible for delivering the charitable outcomes as well as oversight of legal and financial matters.
